Toby
Toby is a 15.1 hand, 17-year-old Quarter Horse Gelding.
RESCUE Toby was rescued from Camelot Feedlot in February of 2014. Toby was headed to slaughter because he is completely blind due to congenital cataracts. This disease is hereditary; most horses do not become blind until they reach their teens. Toby was sent to auction when he went blind. He was scared, and very headshy. |
WHERE HE IS NOW
Board members Melissa and Danielle have both worked extensively with Toby to help him adjust to being blind. He now has complete trust in people, and can be easily handled. He is walk/trot/canter and a great trail horse. The vet determined that it is not possible to remove his cataracts, so he will always be blind, but we don’t mind. He is a very sweet, personable horse who handles his disability with grace and confidence. Toby is available for adoption to a very special home. |
